History of Black Footballers
« on: October 05, 2006, 06:13:29 AM »
Football is the International diet of the world. It is on tv, on the radio,

the shops and markets are filled with all sorts of books, magazines and

toys. Footballers are even in main stream advertising.

We shout and jubilate each time our favourite team scores a goal.

Many of us religiously buy the new stripe each time our favourite team

has a new one. People travel far and wide to watch their team play.

Many Nigerian footballers grace other International teams with their

skills. Originally football was not a Nigerian game. Just how many of you

have wondered who the first black footballers were, what was it like

to be one of the first black footballers?

I will let you ponder on these  questions for a few days before I share

with you what I have come to learn about a certain individual that made

an indelible mark in the history of The First Black Footballers.
