whats your fav song ?
« on: September 09, 2006, 05:06:24 AM »
What is your favourite song at the moment

Mine is Lagbaja  Never far Away.

Every time I listen to  it and watch the video

it sends tingles thru my whole being and

my eyes well up with tears. Why??

I guess it's the way every woman feels

when she has lost her Man!!!!

Heyyy Koolme

Have you got a fav Nigerian song?

Or maybe Nigerian artist.

It's really good to see so much

good music coming from back home.

I want to see Lagbaja live. I bet it

would be an experience of a life time

Fela Kuti..One in a Million

Fela is the BOMBBBBBBBBBBBBB

I have loads of his music on viynl  ( lol I am giving my age away here)

yeah I do have his music on CDs...Hahaha I have advanced with

technology.

The thing about Fela is this..He was fearless, Bold, Morally Upstanding.

Never afraid to expose the Government or any political situation or  business

situation that affected Nigeria and Her Citizens.

He went through so much tribulation each time he exposed, He would

be flogged , sent to prison.  Yet while in prison Fela was always Inspired

to write more songs.

To appreciate the Lyrics is to appreciate the depth of what He was exposing.

As a musician He had loads of female dancers. I believe they were called Prostitutes

by some people. If I am wrong someone correct me o.  Fela's response was

to have a Huge Wedding, where He married ALL 23 women at the same time.

So much can be said about Fela. Imagine your Mother being thrown out of the

window of the house you live in, by the army. *Dem Kill My Mama*  as He sings!!

Fela~ Rest in Peace

Mama Fela.. The Mother of A Great Nation ~ Rest in peace

Miguel did you know most songs you can find on the web and

the lyrics sometimes have the English translation? I hope your

wife will translate for you. Keep on enjoying the good music. :D

All Nigerian music has good rhythm and beat. I think that is why so many people enjoy Nigerian music. Even when you do not understand, the language, you feel like getting up and dancing. ;D
