In Jeremiah 17:9 , the prophet Jeremiah said under divine inspiration , the heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it ? The only one who can truely know the heart of mankind is the Lord God , the Lord Jesus Christ. And in Romans 1: 20 , it says , For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen , being understood by the things that are made , even his eternal power and Godhead ; so that they are without excuse. Because that , when they knew God , they glorified him not as God , neither were thankful : but became vain in theire imaginations , and their fooliish heart was darkened . So because they didnt glorify him as God and werent thankful to him they went in to many other sins that only brought them down. Such as And even as did not like to retain God in their knowledge , God gave them over to a reprobate mind , to do those things which are not convenient ; Being filled with all unrighteousness , fornication , wickedness , covetousness , maliciousness ; full of envy , murder , debate , deceit , maliignity ; whisperers , Backbiters , haters of God , despiteful , proud , boasters , inventors of evil things , disobedient to parents , Without understanding , covenantbreakers , without natural affection , implacable , unmerciful : Who knowing the judgment of God , that they which commit such things are worthy of death , not only do the same , but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:18-20. So mankinds hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked and sinful and only God truely knows our hearts. But our sins can be forgiven if we will repent of them before God our creator and trust his Son as our personal Saviour from sin. As wicked and sinful as we are he loved us while we were yet sinners and died for us. For God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners , Christ died for us. So God already sees our hearts and knows what is there. For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus , and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead , thou shalt be saved.
