Before we get to the giving of the law to Moses to the people we need to look at why God gave it to start with. First of all it shows us how we should treat God and our fellow man. And since sin is the transgression of the law. It shows us we are all guilty before God.Romans 3:19. And by the law is the knowledge of sin. verse 20. And we cannot save ourselves or our souls by keeping the law since by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight. verse 20. But the law is still holy and just and good. verse 12 in Chapter 7 of Romans. And in Chapter 13:8-10, Owe no man any thing , but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this , Thou shalt not commit adultery , Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal , Thou shalt not bear false witness , Thou shalt not covet ; and if there be any other commandment , it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely , Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. So how we love people is how we keep God's law. But also the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. The only way we can do so is by the power of God , the Holy Spirit. Then in Galations 5: 16-26 we are told to walk in the Spirit. But if you are lost in sin today you need to be born again of Gods Spirit by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and the true God. So if you are not saved today repent and believe the gospel and allow Christ to work in you to then glorify God by keeping his word and treating others right. Which we all need to do in our lives. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved , and thy house. Sincerely ; George ,
