In Exodus 20 , The fifth commandment is given , Honor thy father and thy mother : that thy days may be long upon the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee. Here God gave a commandment to the Jewish people with a promise given if it was kept , If they would honor or respect their parents that they were born to that God would also give them a long life in the land that God had given them which was the Caanan land which no one else was to give to anyone elce because God had given it to the descendents of Abraham the Hebrew or the Jewish people . But they were to honour in what ever way possible there parents who God had given them. And in the New Testament also it says to children to obey their parents in the LORD for this is right in the book of Ephesians. So parents are a gift from God as well as children and even though no ones parents are perfect yet they are to be honoured anyway and if they dont yet know the LORD as their personal Saviour to be prayed for and witnessed to about the Lord Jesus Christ that they also might come to be saved. So wether you are a child at home or a parent that isnt yet saved why not come to Christ today and have your sins forgiven and have God's gift of eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and trust him today since he is the way , the truth , and the life ; no man cometh unto the Father but by me, he said. And ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And ye must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Why not repent and trust him for salvation today. Sincerely ; George ,
