Hello guys, I am Tosin Obasa and I only just joined today. Earlier this morning, I was on the phone for more than an hour with another Nigerian, a bossom friend of mine here in London, and we discussed how badly Nigerian politics has turned out to be. It really is high time politics stops being lucrative in Nigeria. I am upset everytime a foul comment is passed by the international community about my country. When investigations where on about corruption in the British home office, the home office denied such alligation and someone actually asked if they were living in Nigeria? Can you imagine the insult? The news of Funso Williams murder came to me as a bad blow as it came at a time I assumed, and stupidly too, that Nigeria has moved beyond this babaric stage of elimination of enemies. Sometimes it really is hard to blame people who would prefer to live as second citizens in oyinbo man's land instead of going back home. There wouldn't be a home to go back to if we continue like this.

You have just made a good point, but how can we make it a better place for all of us? I think its by educating people back home the siginifacnt of tolerance and acceptability of all as one family.

I have often stated that the country called Nigeria is just a geographical location and not a group of people. We are not one and really, I don't care if people agree with me on this or not. Reason is simple, with Nigeria as a universal set, we have the Yorubas to the Southwestern part of the country, hausas and the Fulani's to the North, and the Ibo's to the South while the Ijaws to the South south are subsets. Now even within the subsets, we have further divisions into Ijebus, Ekiti's and all what not. This is about the main problem in Nigeria. When will we stop this stupidity of looking for a President from the North, or from the South when all we need is a good leader irrespective of where he's from as long as he or she is a Nigerian? Why marginalise when we have capable hands? Why shold a Ministarial position be zoned to a state which does not have an expert in that field or Ministry? It is amazing when we keep putting illiterates in key positions, and across from fields. For istance, Uncle Bola was a brilliant man, but for God's sake what was he doing in Power and steel? Must Baba put his friends on the cabinet by force? Nigeria is blessed with brains and natural resources, but the brain drain syndrome will eventually kill us in Nigeria as the brain will keep leaving if not properly utilised. Those of us abroad contribute in no small measure to the development of these so called 'developed countries'. I weep when people call me to say am lucky to be in the UK; Oh my God, what ignorance? I am a second class citizen here. The only place I have rights and total freedon is in NIGERIA. We should learn to be one Nigeria and not mere Hausas or Yorubas or Ibos. If the elderly ones have chosen to disunite, then let us the youner generation take a stand and put a stop to this nonsense. Some of us are fed up.

First of all Nigerians need to stop

Tribalism

My State -vs- your state

When are we all going to realise we are all people

We all have feelings.

I dont see Ibo< I dont see Yoruba< I dont see Hausa

infact I dont see any tribe or state.

All I see is........ People. People who just want to

lead normal lives.

So just put the right person in the right job.

Untill then nothing will run smoothly

Learn to love your Hausa Brother and Sister
Learn to love your Ibo Brother and sister
Learn to love  your brothers and sisters all over Nigeria

Let us stop  the divisions and create unity

I have said my piece
